Be Diligent And Not Become Lazy

“Be thou diligent to know the state of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.” (Proverbs 27 v 23)

The Bible makes it clear that diligence (being willing to work hard and do one’s best at any given task)is a vital part of wise living. We work hard not to become rich, famous or admired (although those may be the result), but to serve God to the best of our ability with HIS LOVE and SPIRIT flowing and working through us!

Because life is short and our journey through subject to continual changing circumstances, we should be all the more diligent in what we do with our life. Followers of Jesus Christ should act with foresight. We need to become responsible stewards, like a farmer with his lands and herds. Thinking ahead is a duty, not an option, for God’s people!

Obtain wealth

Hard work is wise

Hard work gives prosperity

Hard work returns blessings

Make good use of everything they find

Prosper

Bring profit

Have a definite purpose and objective

Work even when it is inconvenient, in order to reap the reward

Stay awake and work hard

Are steady plodders, reaping prosperity

Love to give

Will be successful and stand before kings

Reap prosperity through hard work

Are soon poor

Laziness causes one to sleep away opportunities

Are not productive to their employer

Only fools idle away their time

Never succeed

Waste good opportunities

Want much but get little

Experience poverty

Have trouble all through life

Have idle hands, which are the devil’s workshop

Become saboteurs

Sleep soundly and go hungry

Are so lazy they will not feed themselves

Love sleep and end in poverty

Love pleasure and become poor

Desire things but refuse to work for them

Are full of excuses for not working

Refuse to work but think themselves wise

Experience poverty because of laziness
