What Will You Be Doing InThe Last Days
“The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” (2 Peter 3 v 9-10)
Many people yesterday, today and tomorrow believe that Jesus Christ is never coming back. It is very important to inform all readers and people everywhere on planet earth that people are now living in the last days.
The last days is the period of time between Jesus Christ’s first and second coming, therefore like Peter the Apostle, people today are also living in the last days. God the Father is mastery over time and he alone knows when Jesus Christ shall return. God is allowing sufficient time for people to repent, be willing to turn back to him and be ready to meet him at any time.
Jesus Christ’s second coming will be sudden and terrible for those who do not believe in him. In the days of Noah, mankind and the earth was judged by water. When Jesus comes again the earth will be judged by fire.
Individuals living in obedience to God will not be surprised or have anything to fear, when Jesus returns. Realizing that the heavens and earth will be burnt, believers should put their confidence in what is lasting and eternal. God’s purpose for mankind is not destruction but re-creation. He will purify the heavens and earth with fire, and he will then create them anew.
